Refreshing Homemade Fruit Popsicles Recipe

-

Hey Posse! Okay, real talk — store-bought popsicles are a LIE. High fructose corn syrup, artificial dyes, “natural flavors” that are anything but… you deserve better. And so do your kids. So today I’m sharing my go-to refreshing homemade fruit popsicles recipe that’s ACTUALLY made with real food.

What You’ll Need (Ingredients)

Here’s the thing — you only need five simple ingredients. That’s it.

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries (hulled and halved)
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen fruit of choice (pineapple, kiwi, blueberries — your call)
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt (adds creaminess AND lowers the freezing point so your pops don’t turn into icy bricks)
  • 2–3 tablespoons honey (skip it entirely if your fruit is ripe enough. seriously, taste first)
  • ½ cup orange juice, no sugar added

And yes, if you don’t have a fancy mold, Dixie cups plus craft sticks work perfectly. The Zoku Classic Pop Molds on Amazon are my personal favorite, but don’t let gear stop you.

Directions (How to Make Them)

So easy. Here’s exactly what to do.

Step 1: Blend your strawberries, Greek yogurt, honey, and orange juice until completely smooth. Taste it. Adjust sweetness now. you can’t fix it once it’s frozen.

Step 2: Chop your remaining fruit into small chunks. Divide those chunks between your molds first, this gives you those gorgeous visible fruit pieces.

Step 3: Pour your blended mixture over the fruit chunks, leaving a tiny bit of space at the top for expansion.

Step 4: Insert your sticks and freeze for AT LEAST 8 hours. I know some recipes say 4–5 hours. Don’t do it. You want overnight for a fully smooth, set popsicle. especially with the yogurt base.

Step 5: To unmold, run warm water over the outside of the mold for about 15 seconds. Pull gently. Done.

Prep time: 10 minutes. Freeze time: 8 hours (overnight). Makes: 6–8 popsicles.

Pro tip nobody talks about, slide a cupcake liner with a small slit in the bottom over each stick BEFORE serving. It catches every drip. Game over for sticky hands.

Calorie Count Per Popsicle

This is the part most recipe blogs gloss over, so let me break it down clearly:

| Variation | Calories | Carbs | Protein | Fat |
|—|—|—|—|—|
| Pure fruit + OJ (no yogurt) | ~121 kcal | 30g | 2g | 1g |
| Strawberry + Greek yogurt + honey | ~100 kcal | 20.5g | 1.5g | 2.1g |
| Frozen strawberry + coconut water | ~37 kcal | 8.9g | 0g | 0g |

This recipe (with Greek yogurt) lands right around 100 kcal per pop. That’s it. Make a batch this weekend. your future self will thank you.
